Air Defence repelled latest Russian attack on energy infrastructure more efficiently than previous ones

Ukraine’s Air Defence repelled Russia's latest missile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure more efficiently than previous ones.

Quote: "There was a massive attack again: 70 heavy missiles were aimed at our power system. Main substations and power plants were damaged as facilities operated by Ukrenergo. As a result of the strikes, several power plants were initially forced to stop generating electricity.

Now we are gradually trying to restore generation at thermal power plants, to bring it back up to the levels there were before the last attack. In general, the energy system entered a stable mode of operation quite quickly; it was not unbalanced."

Details: Kudrytskyi remarked on the outstanding work done by the Air Defence Forces of Ukraine. This was a crucial factor that made the latest attack less devastating than previous ones.

Background: Russia’s latest missile attack on Ukraine on 5 December took place after an almost two-week lull. The missiles hit infrastructure targets and residential buildings.
