A Russian airstrike on 9 July in the town of Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia Oblast claimed the lives of seven people, including a railway workers couple, Vitalii Yushko and Olha Ochkas.

Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) [the Ukrainian Railways – ed.] promised to take care of the eight-year-old child of the deceased workers until she comes of age.

Olha and Vitalii came under Russian fire while volunteering to help people on their day off, as reported by UZ.

"The enemy continues to kill civilians. The victims of the Russian inhumans were railway workers who, despite their day off, went on helping people, despite the danger...

Unfortunately, we can't bring parents back to their children, but it's our duty to help and support every child and family of railway workers killed during the war," said Yevhen Liashchenko, Chairman of the Board.

The child will receive annual financial aid from the company and the opportunity for health improvement, as well as payments under the Iron Family programme until they reach the age of majority.
