President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the upcoming meeting in Saudi Arabia on peace in Ukraine is crucial. He added that we are moving towards the Global Peace Summit step by step.

Quote: "Tomorrow in Jeddah – in Saudi Arabia – a meeting of advisors to heads of state and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the Peace Formula will begin. Many countries will be represented, different continents, including the countries of the Global South.
It is very important because in such matters as food security, the fate of millions of people in Africa, Asia, and other parts of the world directly depends on how fast the world will be in implementing the Peace Formula.
I am grateful to Saudi Arabia for this platform for negotiations. A meeting in the same format was recently held in Copenhagen. We are moving step by step towards the Global Peace Summit."

- Earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed the participation of Li Hui, a Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs, in the negotiations on the Ukrainian peace formula.
- The Wall Street Journal reported that the meeting would take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 5-6 August, and later, Andrii Yermak, Head of the Ukrainian President's Office, confirmed the information.
- Ukrainian and Western officials hope these efforts lead to a peace summit later this year, during which world leaders can agree on common principles for ending the war.
- The European Union expects representatives from about 40 countries to attend the meeting. Earlier, the United States explained why Russia would not be present, noting that it was not ready for real diplomacy.
