8 Ukrainian pilots ready to train on F-16s
The first group of Ukrainian pilots to take part in training on US-made F-16 fighter jets has been selected. It includes eight pilots.

Details: Politico noted that eight Ukrainian pilots who are fluent in English are ready to start training on F-16 fighter jets.
The training will reportedly begin after European countries develop an official training plan which gets approved by the United States.
The exact timing of the start of training remains unknown, as Politico stated.
One of Politico's sources also said that 20 pilots who speak some English may start language courses in the UK in August.
Politico noted that 32 Ukrainian pilots have been selected for potential participation in the training program. This number is enough to form two squadrons.
The Ukrainian government has promised that it will use the F-16s only for missions within Ukraine and that the US jets will not attack targets in Russia, as Politico added.
Background: The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 multi-role fighter jets is due to start in late August.
