US Defense Department believes Ukraine makes effective use of military assistance

The US Department of Defense has stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been effectively employing the military equipment the US has provided.

Details: The official expressed confidence that the US assistance provided to Ukraine had a positive impact on the course of the hostilities.

Singh added that this refers to High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and "tremendous air defence systems".

Quote from Singh: "You're seeing them [Ukrainians] employing them [the US-provided assistance] effectively on the battlefield.

So we feel very confident in what we have been able to supply Ukraine to make progress on the battlefield".

Background:

• On 21 November, ABC News quoted an unnamed Ukrainian official as saying that the US had cut supplies of vital NATO-standard ammunition to Ukraine by "more than 30%" since the start of Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza last month.
• The Pentagon dismissed this claim.
