The Russian army has killed three civilians and injured six more in the settlements of Avdiivka, Selidove and Prohres, with prosecutors launching an investigation.

Details: Reports indicate that the Russian forces launched a missile attack on the town of Avdiivka on 30 December 2023. The projectile hit a garden near a private household. A woman, 76, died in her backyard from shrapnel injuries.

Shortly afterwards, Russian troops targeted the town of Selidove, likely using an Iskander-M missile. A local resident, 60, sustained fatal injuries. Her son, 36, was injured and is currently in hospital.

Moreover, two men, 25 and 36, and a woman, 65, were injured in the Russian bombardment. Two women, 68 and 76, were also hospitalised with bruises. In addition, 38 private households and power lines were damaged.

The Russian army also struck the village of Prohres in the Pokrovsk district. A woman, 73, was killed there, as she was at home at the time of the attack.

All the injured are being provided with emergency medical care, and four of them have been hospitalised in the surgical department. Prosecutors are taking all possible and appropriate measures to record Russian war crimes against the civilian population of the oblast.

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor's Office, pre-trial investigations in criminal proceedings on violations of the laws and customs of war have been initiated.
