Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umierov has published his property and income declaration for 2023, according to which his income in 2023 was over 5.5 million hryvnias (about US$145,000), and his wife's income was over 1.4 million hryvnias (about US$37,000).

Details: In particular, Umierov received 5 million hryvnias (about US$132,000) from the alienation of securities and corporate rights, while his salary was 573,873 hryvnias (about US$15,000). Umierov also declared more than 9.1 million hryvnias (about US$240,000) as "the amount of discount from the conversion of the SAFE contract into shares of Petcube, Inc.".

Umierov's wife declared 1.44 million hryvnias in salary.

Umierov also declared US$18,200 in unaccepted creditor’s claims, US$9,100 in cash and 180,500 hryvnias (about US$4,800) in cash, and US$1,800 and 3.7 million hryvnias (about US$97,500) in bank accounts. His wife has US$1,100 in cash and US$8,572 in bank accounts.

He is the owner of 100% of the corporate rights of LLC Black Sea Company (corporate rights have been transferred to the company’s management).

Umierov also has a claim under a contract for the sale and purchase of a share in the capital of LLC Black Sea Company (worth 39.24 million hryvnias, which is about US$1.03 million) and in Astem Technologies, a private limited liability company (worth 26.68 million hryvnias, which is about US$703,000).

He also has shares in Petcube worth a little less than 7,000 hryvnias (about US$185).

According to the declaration, Umierov rents two apartments in Kyiv (80.6 square metres and 128.8 square metres), is registered in an apartment in Kyiv (95 square metres); his mother owns a house in the temporarily occupied city of Bakhchysarai in Crimea (196.7 square metres), and his wife rents an apartment in the United States (137.4 square metres).

It is also stated that Umierov drives a 2016 Ford Explorer.

Background:

  • According to Umierov’s previous declarations, his income was 4.5 million hryvnias (about US$119,000) in 2022 and 3.5 million hryvnias (about US$92,000) in 2021.
