Quote: "The Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief [meeting]. Today, in the city of Kharkiv.
I have heard reports from Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yurii Sodolia, Commander of the Khortytsia Operative-Strategic Group, and Mykhailo Drapatyi, Commander of the Kharkiv Operative Group of Forces. [The reports were about – ed.] the operative situation and the tasks and needs of each brigade involved, of each unit, mainly in Kharkiv Oblast, near Vovchansk and Lyptsi.
We analysed in detail the prospects of the combat situation, upcoming threats for the next few days and weeks, and our Ukrainian capabilities to counteract Russia's offensive plans."
Details: Zelenskyy stressed that as of 16 May the situation in Kharkiv Oblast is under control. The Defence Forces of Ukraine are inflicting considerable losses upon the Russians, but the situation on the front remains very complicated, so Ukrainian units will be reinforced.
Quote: "The heads of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine reported on the occupiers’ intentions, and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine reported on [Russian] counter-sabotage measures. A plan of further action was created – both for the authorities in Kharkiv Oblast and for all the agencies responsible for the region’s security.
I heard reports from the leadership of other border and frontline oblasts on the current situation, main risks and key needs. I gave them corresponding orders."
