Video of Clash Between NABU and GPU Employees Published Online

A video of the clash between National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (GPU) employees on August 12 was published online. It is entitled "The Lawlessness of NABU" and depicts the GPU as victims.

The video was published by user Carl Gun, and it is the only video on his YouTube channel.

On August 12, during covert surveillance of a person featured in a criminal case investigated by NABU, employees of the General Prosecutor’s Office tried to enter the room where employees of the Bureau were working and uncovered a surveillance point to monitor GPU employees in a way that they deem unlawful.

According to NABU, all its investigative actions are lawful and have been approved by a court. On August 12, the Head of the Department for Investigation of Especially Important Economic Cases of the General Prosecutor’s Office Volodymyr Hutsuliak reported that three employees of the GPU were beaten by NABU special force officers.

At the same time, NABU Head Artem Sytnyk said that the GPU arrested two technical professionals who were assisting the NABU with covert surveillance. According to Sytnyk, NABU employees were detained in the offices and the basement of the GPU for over 11 hours. "There are facts that physical and psychological influence has been applied to them," he said.

According to NABU employees, prosecutor Sus of the Department for Investigation of Especially Important Economic Cases of the GPU, who was present during the interrogations, told they would be killed [ed: to you will be the lid of a coffin, in Ukrainian].
