Russian Defence Ministry claims to have shot down UAV over Black Sea

The Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has claimed that a Russian naval aircraft supposedly shot down a Ukrainian drone over the Black Sea on the afternoon of 29 August.

Details: The drone was supposedly destroyed around 12:00.

The Russians have not provided any evidence of this, as per usual.

Background: 

  • Earlier, the sources of Ukrainska Pravda in the Security Service of Ukraine reported that on 25 August, Ukrainian defence forces, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, launched a drone strike on the base of the 126th Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, deployed in the village of Perevalne in temporarily occupied Crimea. So far, several dozen Russians are reported to have been killed or wounded.
  • On 28 August, the Special Operation Forces showed the UAVs used in that attack.
  • On the afternoon of 28 August, Russian occupiers reported a drone and missile attack on Crimea; they also claimed to have shot down all aerial targets.
