South Korea's defence minister made the announcement at a press conference several hours after the South Korean military reported that the DPRK had launched short-range ballistic missiles in the country's eastern waters.

Shin Won-sik noted that Pyongyang had likely received over 9,000 containers of aid in exchange for military support.

The minister further stated that North Korea used to rely on ships but is now increasingly using railways for cross-border arms deliveries.
