Aircraft deployed to extinguish fires caused by Russian strikes in Kyiv Oblast – video

Fires broke out in Kyiv Oblast on 12 August following Russian drone strikes, prompting the emergency services to deploy aircraft to help extinguish them.

Details: Aircraft from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were involved in the firefighting efforts. They carried out 17 water drops, releasing 34 tonnes of water.

Background:

• On the morning of 12 August, a fire broke out at warehouses in the Brovary district in Kyiv Oblast as a result of a Russian drone attack. One person has been injured in the strike.
• On the afternoon of 12 August, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with jet-powered drones. Air defence systems were operating in the capital. One of the drones crashed, damaging a non-residential building in the Darnytskyi district.
