Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP Serhiy Leshchenko said that Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko held a secret meeting with the oligarch owner of Privat group Ihor Kolomoyskyi, according to comments on 112 Channel on July 25.

He said that the meeting was held "about one or two weeks ago" in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, where Lutsenko went to present the new oblast prosecutor. According to Leshchenko, they discussed the "problems that Kolomoyskyi faced".

"Kolomoyskyi gets involved in politics too much, and our Western partners are not happy with the level of his activities. And from time to time a question arises on how to rein him in politically. And of course Kolomoyskyi does not want this, and he is looking for someone he can make agreements with. So, Lutsenko is now contacting Kolomoyskyi, to help him preserve his influence, but to prevent him from acting against the current authorities," Leshchenko summarized.

Lutsenko denies these allegations: "The schedule [of my visit to Ivano-Frankivsk] proves that I didn’t have time to meet Kolomoyskyi, or even to have lunch". The Prosecutor General told the MP that he not only didn’t meet the oligarch in person, but also has not talked over the phone with Kolomoyskyi this year. "Calm down, Serhiy," said Lutsenko. "I am not going to compete with your record of secret meetings with oligarchs."
