Sviatoshynskyi District Court in Kyiv completed the study of ballistic tests in the case of five ex-Berkut officers accused of killing of 48 Maidan protesters, Liga.net informed on Tuesday, July 5.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office (GPU), ballistic tests of bullets extracted from the bodies of Maidan protesters who died or suffered injuries prove involvement of the accused ex-Berkut officers.

"The latest ballistic test managed to identify specific assault rifles belonging to the Kyiv ‘Berkut’ special unit. Protesters were shot by these riffles exactly. The test identified who was killed from specific rifles belonging to specific officers," GPU prosecutor Oleksii Donskoi told journalists during the break of court hearing.

The court is now considering the cases of five ex-Berkut officers suspected in killings of Maidan protesters.
