SBU ‘to Suspend Accreditation of Journalists Who Disclosed Positions of Ukrainian Forces’

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has been asked to suspend accreditation of three journalists who disclosed positions of Ukrainian forces, the Anti-Terror Operation (ATO) press office reports.

"Supporting the initiative of Ukrainian fighters we requested the SBU to suspend accreditation of Hromadske.TV reporters Anastasiia Stanko and Kostiantyn Reutskyi and Novaya Gazeta reporter Yuliya Polukhina," it claims.

On July 6, they recorded a video in Avdiivka showing how Russian proxies shell Ukrainian positions and how two Ukrainian servicemen were killed by a mortar shell. On July 8, this video was posted on the Hromadske.TV website. After having watched it, Ukrainian servicemen requested Hromadske.TV to take it off the air, which the latter did.

Later on, a similar video by Yuliya Polukhina was posted on the Novaya Gazeta website. It was broadly disseminated on the Internet, among Russian mass media and media of the so-called ‘DNR.’

Faces of Ukrainian servicemen and the specific location of their positions can be easily identified on this video. This is a grave violation of journalist good practices in the war zone, ATO press office says.
