Quote from Grossi: "We are finishing our long-awaited visit to [the] Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. I have just completed a first tour of the key areas that we wanted to see on this first approach to the whole facility. Of course, there is a lot more to do. My team is staying. More importantly, and most importantly, we are establishing a continued presence of the IAEA here."

Details: Most of the inspectors from the IAEA mission, including Grossi himself, have already left the ZNPP following their initial visit on Thursday, 1 September. Five members of the IAEA remain at the power plant.

Energoatom [Ukraine's state-owned company that runs all power plants in this country] earlier reported that these inspectors would remain at the ZNPP until 3 September.

Background: On the morning of 1 September, the IAEA mission set off from the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia and headed for the nuclear power plant in the Russian-controlled city of Enerhodar, despite reports of intense shelling in the area.
