Routes to frontline cities to be reorganised due to Russian attacks, says Ukrainian railway operator
Railway routes in Ukraine's frontline regions will be reorganised due to ongoing Russian attacks.

Quote: "These are our frontline regions, which are under attack every day. But it is fundamentally important to continue service to these cities... We are reorganising them in a certain way. I will not talk about it at length, but we are rearranging our routes, making them combined in order to reduce security risks, because the enemy is continuing to attack and hunt for locomotives, carriages and rolling stock."
Details: According to Pertsovskyi, Ukrzaliznytsia does not plan to suspend connections with frontline areas.
Quote: "We ask all passengers to listen to the instructions of the train crews and station staff. Certain sections will be covered by buses, and routes will be changed to minimise risks, but without interrupting connections with frontline hromadas." Background:
- Russia launched a strike on a railway station in the Shostka hromada of Sumy Oblast on 4 October. One person was killed and eight people were hospitalised, including three children.
- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has called for increased pressure on Russia after "shocking scenes" from Sumy Oblast.
