Russian large-scale combined attack on Ukraine: 549 aerial assets used, direct hits recorded at 20 locations
Russia carried out a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine on the night of 4-5 October using 549 aerial assets, including loitering munitions and missiles launched from air, sea and ground platforms. Ukrainian air defence forces intercepted 478 targets, but 8 missiles and 57 attack drones hit their targets across 20 locations.

Details: Starting at 20:00 on 4 October, Russian forces used:
- 496 loitering munitions, including Shahed and Gerbera (and other types), launched from Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, Shatalovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from Kacha in temporarily occupied Crimea; according to the Air Force, about 250 of them were Shahed drones
- 2 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal ballistic missiles air-launched from Russia's Lipetsk Oblast
- 42 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles launched from Samara, Kursk and Bryansk oblasts in Russia
- 9 Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the Black Sea.
The main target of the attack was Lviv Oblast.
As of 14:00, air defence units destroyed or jammed 478 aerial assets:
- 439 Shahed and Gerbera drones (and other types)
- 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal ballistic missile
- 32 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles
- 6 Kalibr cruise missiles.
Six Russian missiles failed to reach their targets, with crash sites still being verified.
Direct hits were recorded from 8 missiles and 57 drones at 20 locations, while debris from intercepted targets fell at another six sites.
