Father returns from front line to Lviv Oblast to the place where his 15-year-old daughter was killed in a Russian strike

The father of 15-year-old Anastasiia Hrytsiv, who was killed in a Russian strike on the village of Lapaiivka in Lviv Oblast on the night of 4-5 October, has travelled from the front line to the place where his daughter lost her life. Volodymyr has served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for more than three years.

He travelled back from the front line to the ruins of what was once his daughter's home.

Details: Volodymyr recounted the last conversation he had with his daughter the evening before the tragedy.

Quote: "She asked how I was. I replied, 'I'm fine.' I asked her, 'How are you?' She said everything was fine too. And next morning I got the news."

Background:

  • On the night of 4-5 October, Russia struck Lviv Oblast, killing a family in the village of Lapaiivka. The youngest victim was Anastasiia Hrytsiv, who had turned 15 on 26 August.
  • The Horodok hromada reported that Anastasiia and her mother, Uliana Konstantynova, were from the village of Mshana. Uliana's parents also died in the attack. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]
  • Uliana's husband initially survived the attack and was taken to hospital, but he later died from his injuries.
  • The victims will be buried in Mshana cemetery.
