Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Ukraine used only its own weapons to strike Russia, and not just drones.

Quote: "The main thing to understand is that in recent days, Ukraine has used only Ukrainian-made weapons, not just drones. And from those hits, I think people can understand from the facts on social media where drones were used and where they were not. And I would like to thank not only the soldiers, but also the manufacturers who took the appropriate steps. We expect greater opportunities, but they depend on financial capabilities."

Details: Zelenskyy noted that in 2026, there is an opportunity to produce US$35 billion worth of missiles and drones. Part of the budget that will be used for Ukrainian long-range capabilities may be taken from bilateral agreements with more than 30 countries.

In addition, according to Zelenskyy, there was a positive reaction from "some people" at the European Political Community summit regarding the use of frozen Russian assets for this purpose. Zelenskyy emphasised that air defence systems are a priority.

Background: Earlier, The Economist wrote that Ukraine had begun using its own Flamingo missiles to strike the Russian territory and is currently producing 2-3 missiles per day, with production set to increase to 7 missiles per day by the end of October.
