Fifth member of family whose home was destroyed by Russian missile in Lviv Oblast has died

A man has died of injuries he sustained in a Russian missile attack on Lapaivka, a village in the Zymna Voda hromada, Lviv Oblast, on 5 October. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

Quote from the village council: "Vitalii Konstantynov, 46, a resident of Lapaivka village, died today, 11 October, as a result of the Russian missile attack."

Details: Earlier, the village council released the names of four other people killed in Lapaivka, three of whom shared the surname Konstantynov. It appears that Vitalii Konstantynov was related to them.

Quote: "On 7 October, the hromada bid farewell to their innocent fellow villagers – Liuba Konstantynova, 68, and Mykhailo Konstantynov, 74, who were buried in the cemetery in the village of Zymna Voda. Uliana Konstantynova, 40, and Anastasiia Hrytsiv, 15, were buried in the cemetery in the village of Mshana on 8 October."

Background:

  • On Sunday, 5 October, Russia struck Lviv Oblast, killing a family in the village of Lapaivka. The youngest victim of the attack, 15-year-old Anastasiia Hrytsiv, had just celebrated her birthday, on 26 August.
  • According to the Horodok hromada, Anastasiia and her mother, Uliana Konstantynova, were originally from Mshana. Uliana's parents-in-law were also killed in the same house.
  • Later, Anastasiia's father returned from the front line to the place where his daughter lost her life.
  • In total, four people were killed and eight injured in Russia's 5 October attack on the region.
