Body of another woman recovered from under rubble in Ternopil, bringing death toll to 32, including 6 children

Rescue workers have recovered the body of another woman from under the rubble, bringing the death toll from the Russian strike on Ternopil on 19 November to 32.

Quote: "As of 03:00 on 22 November, rescue workers have found the body of another woman at the scene of the rubble removal following an enemy attack on Ternopil."

Details: Ziubanenko added that search and rescue operations are continuing without interruption.

A total of 94 people have been injured in the attack, including 18 children. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that 13 people are considered missing.

Background:

  • On the night of 18-19 November, Russia struck an industrial facility and two residential buildings located in the Soniachnyi district in Ternopil. The attack caused significant destruction and civilian casualties.
  • The Air Force confirmed that Russian Kh-101 cruise missiles fired from strategic aviation aircraft hit the multi-storey residential buildings in Ternopil: six Tu-95MS (based at Olenya airfield) and four Tu-160MS (based at Engels and Ukrainka airfields). The launch areas were in Russia's Vologda and Astrakhan oblasts.
