Zelenskyy: If Russians agree to energy truce, we are ready

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine is ready for an energy truce with Russia, if Russia is ready for it.

Quote: "The Russians are striking our energy system and we are responding absolutely justifiably. So if the Russians are ready for an energy truce – and we have always emphasised this – we are ready. It's extremely important for people."

- Zelenskyy said that Russia shows no interest in a peace process, as it continues striking Ukraine's energy and critical infrastructure.
- On the night of 8-9 December, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure across several regions, causing power outages in four oblasts.
