Himera Radios, a Ukrainian company, has successfully tested its radios and repeaters in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

Details: Himera Radios explained that this area is well-suited for testing communications due to its rugged terrain, changes in elevation, dense forests and dense urban development.

"In the Exclusion Zone, we managed to maintain a stable connection between two B1s at a distance of about 18 km – one of the greatest distances we have achieved during tests," Himera Radios said.

The company added that the result in an urban environment was also indicative: with an autonomous B1 repeater on the roof of a 16-storey building, the signal was clear on every floor, with no blackouts or noise.

Quote from Himera Radios: "In forested areas, the result depended on the terrain and the density of trees, but in open areas the radios operated at the highest level. We assessed the quality of the connection as stable and predictable. We gained not only confidence in the reliability of our solutions but also valuable data for further improvement."

Background: Himera communications systems were tested earlier by a unit from Ukraine's Ground Forces. On that occasion, Himera G1 PRO radios and B1 repeaters were used. The tests took place at the base of the 151st Separate Reconnaissance and Strike Battalion.
