Russia attacks thermal power plant belonging to Ukraine's largest energy company DTEK

Russia has carried out another attack on thermal power plants belonging to DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, damaging equipment.

Quote: "This is already the seventh large-scale attack on the company's thermal power plants since October."
Details: Overall, DTEK's thermal power plants have been attacked by the Russians more than 210 times since the start of the full-scale invasion. As a result, 59 power engineers at the plants have been injured and four have been killed.
Background:
- On the morning of 23 December, a large-scale air-raid warning was issued across Ukraine. Russian forces launched a combined attack using cruise missiles and strike drones. Air defence activity was reported in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, as well as in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
- Russia has once again targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, resulting in emergency power outages in a number of regions.
- Energy facilities in western regions of Ukraine were the most heavily affected as a result of the Russian attack on 23 December.
