Ukraine strikes Ilsky oil refinery in Kuban and hits depots and equipment in occupied Donetsk Oblast

Ukraine's defence forces struck a number of targets linked to Russia's military-economic and military infrastructure on the night of 31 December-1 January, including the Ilsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai and sites in temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast.

Quote: "As part of measures to reduce the military-economic capacity of the Russian aggressor, units of Ukraine's defence forces struck a number of important enemy targets on the night of 1 January.

In particular, the Ilsky oil refinery (Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation) was hit. Strikes by attack UAVs were recorded on the target, followed by a fire at the facility."

Details: Ukrainian forces also hit the Almetyevskaya oil preparation facilities in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan. The results are being confirmed.

Ukraine also struck Russian targets in the temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast. In the Donetsk area, they hit a storage depot for Shahed-type drones, also referred to as Geran. Near the settlement of Shevchenko, a Tor-M2 air defence missile system was reportedly hit.

In the Ilovaisk area, a fuel and lubricants depot of Russia's 51st Army was struck, causing a fire.

Near the city of Avdiivka, the defence forces hit the command and observation post of an assault detachment of the 68th Tank Regiment of the Russian 150th Motor Rifle Division.

Quote: "The defence forces of Ukraine continue to take measures to undermine the military-economic and offensive capacity of the Russian occupiers and to force the Russian Federation to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine."

Background: Several Russian regions came under drone attack on the night of 31 December-1 January. The strikes have caused fires at oil refineries in Kaluga Oblast and Krasnodar Krai.
