Russians attack Kherson and Kherson Oblast, killing four people
Russian forces struck the centre of Kherson and the vicinity of the village of Tarasa Shevchenka in Kherson Oblast on 8 January. Four people have been killed, and another four have been injured in the attacks.

Quote: "Russian troops dropped an explosive device from an unmanned aerial vehicle onto a car near the village of Tarasa Shevchenka at approximately 11:30 on 8 January 2026. The attack has killed a 63-year-old man."
Details: Two other people who were in the vehicle have also been injured.
At around 12:30, the Russians also attacked the central part of Kherson. Two men were killed instantly. Three more residents of Kherson were injured and taken to hospital.
Later, one of the injured – a 57-year-old man – died. Doctors fought to save his life until the very end, but his injuries proved too severe.
