Quote from Novus: "Not all stores are able to operate as usual due to the outages, so we ask customers to check the latest opening hours in advance.
We are all facing a difficult situation because of disruptions to electricity supply. The Novus team is doing everything possible to restore store operations as quickly as possible and be there for our customers."
Details: Silpo reported that equipment in some supermarkets occasionally malfunctions due to low temperatures and partial blackouts. In such cases, a store may be temporarily closed.
Silpo specified to Ekonomichna Pravda that this concerns supermarkets not only in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, but also in other cities across Ukraine.
"Even during prolonged power outages, we try to stay open so that people can buy groceries, charge their devices and keep warm," Silpo said.
"We are implementing energy-efficiency systems, LED lighting and smart cooling. When the country's energy infrastructure is under attack and logistics may be disrupted, a store operates as an island of stability for the community, where people can always purchase essential goods," said Mark Petkevych, CEO of the Novus chain.
In the meantime, the ATB retail chain said there has been no mass closure of its stores in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast.
"All ATB stores in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast are operating as usual. The company's retail outlets are equipped with autonomous power sources (generators), which allows them to maintain uninterrupted operations even in the event of power supply disruptions," the retailer said.
"In isolated cases of technical or logistical difficulties, the company responds promptly and takes the necessary measures to resolve them in order to ensure stable store operations and the availability of goods for consumers," ATB added.
