US President Donald Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are planning to visit Moscow in the near future for a meeting with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.

Details: The planned visit by Trump's envoys comes amid efforts to advance a peace deal aimed at ending Russia's war against Ukraine.
Sources told Bloomberg that the meeting could take place later this month, while cautioning that the plans have not yet been finalised and that the timing could change due to developments in Iran, where large-scale protests are underway.
A White House official said that no such meeting is currently scheduled. The Kremlin did not respond to a request for comment.
One source told Bloomberg that it is not yet known how interested Putin is in holding a second meeting with members of Trump's team, which appears to be the main obstacle to setting a date.
The sources added that Putin is expected to be presented with the latest draft of a 20-point peace plan drawn up by Ukrainian and US representatives.
Witkoff and Kushner visited Moscow and met with Putin in December. That round of talks lasted nearly five hours but did not produce a breakthrough.
Witkoff met with Putin in Russia six times last year.
