Ukraine's energy minister sets out timeline for restoring heating to Kyiv apartments
Work is ongoing in Kyiv to restore heating following Russia's attack on the night of 19-20 January, Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.

Quote: "Start-up operations will continue through the night. We plan to begin warming the boilers late this evening so that we can start bringing heat back to Kyiv residents' homes in the morning."
Details: Shmyhal added that the situation regarding electricity remains challenging. Emergency repairs are continuing and power engineers are working around the clock.
Quote: "The operation of critical infrastructure facilities is also under review. We are assessing how much electricity can be freed up and redirected to households."
More details: Shmyhal said he has ordered a further review and instructed officials to switch as many facilities as possible to generator power to free up more electricity for households.
He added that Kyiv has already received 49 of the 55 generators allocated from the Energy Ministry's reserve hub. The remaining units are due to arrive shortly.
