Russia hits Philip Morris factory in Kharkiv with missile overnight

Philip Morris Ukraine reported that part of its factory in Kharkiv was damaged by a Russian missile strike on the night of 29-30 January.

Details: Emergency services are working at the site, and firefighting operations are ongoing. Early data indicates there are no casualties: all personnel on duty were in shelters during the attack.

The company mentioned that the Kharkiv factory has been non-operational since the start of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation on 24 February 2022.

In 2024, Philip Morris opened a new factory in Lviv Oblast, where 250 employees from the Kharkiv site were relocated.

Background: On the evening of 29 January, the Russians attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 111 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of strike UAVs, with 80 drones being downed, but some hits were recorded.
