Ukrainian air defence downs 20 Kh-101 missiles, 1 Kh-59/69, 4 Iskander-Ks and 367 drones, hits recorded at 18 locations

Russian forces attacked Ukraine using 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles, 20 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles, 1 Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missile and 396 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones on the night of 16-17 February. Around 250 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Details: Early reports indicated that as of 09:30, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 392 aerial assets:

  • 20 Kh-101 cruise missiles
  • 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles
  • 1 Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missile
  • 367 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones.

Hits by 4 ballistic missiles and 18 UAVs had been recorded at 13 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 8 locations.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
