EU debates on timeline for Ukraine's accession to begin in coming months – Dutch PM

New Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten has stated that the European Union will hold debates in the coming months on realistic terms for Ukraine's accession to the EU.

Details: Jetten reaffirmed that the Netherlands believes Ukraine belongs in Europe.

Quote: "It is crystal clear to the Netherlands that the future of Ukraine lies in Europe. It is part of the European family and should become a member of the EU in the end. It is important that Ukraine continues the work on reforms and I am impressed by the work that has already been done over the past few years in times of the war, also proceeding with the necessary reforms to become an EU member."

More details: Jetten also announced that in the coming months, "we will need to discuss with all our European partners the realistic timeframe" for Ukraine's accession.
