Zelenskyy: Russia's 24 March strike causes damage across 11 Ukrainian oblasts – video, photo

Eleven Ukrainian oblasts were affected and four people were killed as a result of a combined Russian strike on Ukraine on the night of 23-24 March.

Quote: "Recovery efforts are underway in our regions following last night's large-scale Russian attack. In Zaporizhzhia and Poltava, ordinary apartment buildings were damaged, and fires broke out. Nearly 40 drones were launched against Shostka in Sumy Oblast. In Slatyne, in Kharkiv Oblast, a drone struck an electric train.

Overall, damage has been reported in 11 regions. As of now, sadly, four people have been reported killed in the attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Dozens more have been injured, including children."

Details: The president stressed the need for the world to continue supporting Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor in order to protect lives.

Background:

  • Russian forces conducted a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine's critical infrastructure using drones and air- and ground-launched missiles on the night of 23-24 March. Ukraine's air defences have downed 390 out of 426 aerial assets. All cruise missiles were destroyed.
  • Six missile hits and 27 strike UAV hits were recorded at 22 locations, with downed UAV debris falling at a further 10 locations.
