France plans to create its own weapons "marketplace" where units will be able to independently choose drones and electronic warfare systems. The idea is based on Ukraine's experience with the Brave1 Market platform.

Source: Pierre Schill, Chief of Staff of the French Army, as reported by Defense Express, citing French weekly news magazine Le Point

Details: Schill mentioned it in the context of developing innovative approaches within the French military.

He said the Future Combat Command (CCF) has already been established, and additional funding has been introduced directly for regiments.

Research centres are being formed around brigades within the French armed forces. These centres will evaluate new equipment and weapons, determining their effectiveness under various conditions.

After that, the solutions will undergo certification and be added to a special catalogue, that is, "to a marketplace, as is done in Ukraine".

Quote from Schill: "Brigades will be allocated 'points' or purchasing rights so that they can choose drones or electronic warfare systems depending on their needs instead of receiving a single top-down decision."

Details: He added that this approach is intended to expand the capabilities of military units.

Background: Earlier, the US Army launched the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Marketplace procurement platform. It operates on a principle similar to Ukraine's DOT-Chain Defence marketplace. The platform for the US Army was developed by Amazon Web Services and the US Army's Enterprise Cloud Management Agency.
