Details: Budanov noted that the American delegation, led by Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy, and Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, may visit Kyiv after 12 April.
He said Republican Senator Lindsey Graham may also be part of the delegation.
"Kushner, Witkoff, Lindsey Graham – those are the ones expected to come. Who else will be there – we'll see," Budanov said.
He also noted that Ukraine may receive more substantial security guarantees following the visit of the US delegation.
"We set out what we want a long time ago. I think it will be implemented soon. What comes next is another question. But on security guarantees, we have definitely made progress – we've already moved forward," Budanov emphasised.
Separately, he added that Ukraine has received requests from its international allies to stop regular airstrikes on Russian oil refineries amid a surge in global oil and fuel prices caused by the war in Iran.
Background:
- Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited a US negotiating delegation to Kyiv.
- He also said that in the coming days, Ukraine will incorporate its responses to outstanding questions regarding US security guarantees into a draft document on US security guarantees.
