Explosion reported at gunpowder plant in Russia's Kazan

An explosion has occurred at the Kazan Gunpowder Factory in Russia's Tatarstan, resulting in a fire. The cause is believed to be man-made.

Details: The press service for the head of Tatarstan reported that part of the structure collapsed as a result of the fire. According to the authorities, the fire was caused by human activity.

The Kazan Gunpowder Plant is one of the oldest in Russia, founded in the 18th century. It produces propellant charges for a wide range of weapons, including tank and artillery ammunition, and components for Kalibr and Iskander missiles.
