Details: The exemption applies to around 2,000 petrol stations in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and the US and will remain in force until 29 October.

Lukoil also owns around 200 petrol stations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. It is one of the leading retail fuel suppliers in Moldova and Bulgaria. The company operates about 600 stations in Türkiye and more than 300 in Romania.

The US Treasury has also issued a licence permitting certain operations involving Lukoil's oil refineries in Bulgaria, including Lukoil Neftochim Burgas, the largest refinery in the Balkans.
