Zelenskyy meets King of Bahrain and proposes drone agreement – video

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to discuss the security situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region as well as key challenges and security opportunities.

Quote: "We spoke about Iran's strikes against Bahrain and other countries, as well as the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Our country is facing similar terrorist strikes almost every day, and our people have relevant experience in full-scale defence. Ukraine is ready to share this security expertise with Bahrain and help strengthen the protection of life. I proposed signing a Drone Deal and scaling up cooperation with Bahrain, and we agreed that our teams will work out the details."

Details: Zelenskyy also noted that particular attention was given to the development of bilateral economic relations and cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The issue of the mutual opening of embassies was also raised.

This is Zelenskyy's first visit to Bahrain and the first meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and Bahrain since 2003, according to the Ukrainian President's Office.
