Ukrainian defence company Ratel shows combat use of ground robot with FPV drone launch platform
Ukrainian defence company Ratel Robotics has released footage showing the combat use of FPV attack drones launched from a domestically produced ground robotic system.
Source: video published by Ratel Robotics's CEO Taras Ostapchuk
Details: In the video, a ground robotic system equipped with drone compartments approaches a road near the line of combat engagement. FPV drones connected via fibre-optic cable are then launched to carry out missions. According to Ratel, the first confirmed strikes have already been recorded.
"Yes, not only Ratel ground robotic systems are operating on the line of combat engagement, but FPV drones as well. Yes, we already have confirmed strikes! Step by step, the ground robot+Ratel FPV ecosystem is being built," Taras Ostapchuk wrote.
In comments under the same video on Threads, Ostapchuk specified that the ground robotic system had been equipped with a Starlink terminal, while the FPV drones launched from the robot used fibre-optic cables for control.
Ratel adapted the Ratel H ground robotic system into a mobile launch platform for FPV attack drones in February this year. The system received a new frame acting as a launch platform for drones. It allows operators to transport and launch up to four UAVs from dangerous or remote areas without requiring an operator to be physically present at the position.
Background: Earlier, Ratel Robotics began field testing its own net launchers for ground robotic systems and also unveiled the tracked Nurse TB ground robotic system.
