Quote: "A few things are important to mention today. There was a report from our military: Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and the General Staff – Andrii Hnatov. It covered our activity on the front, actions against the occupier, and Russian assaults.

This month has brought changes in the dynamic in our favour, in Ukraine's favour: we are holding more positions and inflicting more damage. Our long-range sanctions against Russia are having a particularly significant impact. Today, I approved our long-range plans for June, and we must creatively develop Ukraine's long-range sanctions, which showed their strength in May."

Details: Zelenskyy also discussed Ukraine's tasks for May and June with Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

Quote: "It is also very important that our teams are communicating with Hungary's new government. Ukraine is interested in normal good-neighbourly relations and full-fledged cooperation. And we are doing our part to achieve this.

There have been good contacts between Ukraine and Georgia – it is time to normalise relations. Of course, we are working substantively on the track of European institutions. Ukraine deserves to be part of the European Union, and even in wartime, while fighting for its independence and defending its statehood, we are moving towards Ukraine's full-fledged European integration."

Background: On the morning of 19 May, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Yaroslavl; the local authorities claimed it was a UAV attack and said a drone had struck an industrial facility. The road towards Moscow was blocked; the target may have been an oil refinery located in the southwest of the city.
