Details: Astra reported that "eyewitnesses are posting footage of a fire in Volgograd during a nighttime Ukrainian attack".
A missile warning was issued in Russia's Volgograd Oblast.
Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) announced temporary restrictions at Volgograd airport.
Other monitoring channels reported that "a defence plant had been hit". The reported target is believed to be the Federal Research and Production Centre Titan-Barrikady JSC, one of the key facilities in Russia's military-industrial complex based in Volgograd. The plant manufactures missile launchers, artillery systems and components for missile systems, including the Iskander-M, Yars and Topol-M. It has been under international sanctions since 2022 for producing weapons for the Russian military.
Denys Shtilerman, co-founder of Ukrainian drone and missile manufacturer Fire Point, also posted videos showing explosions in Volgograd.
Quote from Shtilerman: "Volgograd is welcoming the seasonal migration of Flamingos from Ukraine. More to come..."
Update: Astra later reported that, according to its Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) analysis, smoke was rising from the Titan-Barrikady military plant following a Ukrainian attack on Volgograd using Flamingo missiles.
"The plant manufactures launchers for Russia's strategic missile systems," Astra added.
Bocharov confirmed on the morning of 27 June that Volgograd had come under attack, including "production facilities at one of the facilities in the Krasnooktyabrsky district".
He said "localised fires were promptly extinguished".
Bocharov also reported that 10 people had been injured.
Background: Ukrainian forces struck a military plant in Russia's Cheboksary with missiles and drones as well as the Kuibyshev oil refinery in Russia's Samara Oblast on the night of 9-10 June.
