Russian strike on Kharkiv Oblast facility marks 250th attack on Ukraine's gas production this year

Since early morning on 17 July, Russia has been carrying out a large-scale drone attack on one of the gas production facilities belonging to Naftogaz Group, Ukraine's national oil and gas company, in Kharkiv Oblast.

Details: This is already the 250th attack on Naftogaz facilities since the start of 2026, averaging 1.26 attacks on the company per day.

The attack has halted operations at the facility. Staff are sheltering, and none have been injured.

It is not currently possible to determine the extent and scale of the damage, as the threat of repeat strikes remains.
