Zelenskyy confirms strike on Kirov military plant and oil facility 1,350 km from Ukraine's border

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine's defence forces struck a company in the Russian city of Kirov, which supplies components for Russia's military-industrial complex, and an oil facility located nearly 1,350 km from the Ukrainian border.

Quote: "Today, Ukraine's defence forces struck one of the key military enterprises in Russia's Kirov. It supplies components for the occupier's aircraft and missile systems, which are used, in particular, in the massive attacks against our cities and communities.

I thank our warriors for their precision. Our response is entirely justified."

Details: Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces have also hit an oil facility almost 1,350 km from Ukraine's state border.

He added that an operation targeting Russian logistics is ongoing to disrupt supplies of drone components, navigation equipment and other military gear used by the Russian armed forces.

The president thanked units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine for their contributions to the operations.

Background: Denys Shtilerman, co-founder of the Ukrainian defence company Fire Point, said earlier that the Russian defence company Avitek in Kirov had been struck by a Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo cruise missile. He posted photos and videos published by the Exilenova+ channel, which cited sources among Russian military personnel. The number of munitions used in the strike was not specified.
