Zelenskyy appoints new deputy head of President's Office

Former Minister of the Economy Oleksii Sobolev has been appointed deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, where he is to focus on economic affairs.

Quote: "I signed a decree appointing Oleksii Sobolev Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. Oleksii will focus on economic matters as part of the Office's team and will work in coordination with Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi, Minister of Economy Oleksandr Kravchenko, other government officials, and regional and local authorities."

Details: Zelenskyy stressed that during wartime it is important to provide the maximum support for economic activity in the country to support entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship, to preserve as many jobs as possible and to create new ones capable of ensuring a normal life for Ukrainians and for Ukraine.

"We agreed that Oleksii will coordinate work with partners to develop a post-war recovery plan for Ukraine and fill it with real substance," Zelenskyy wrote on X.

He noted that Ukraine must be fully prepared to return to normal civilian economic life, maintain the strength of its defence industries and create the necessary incentives for Ukrainians to realise their entrepreneurial potential and career prospects in Ukraine.

Background: On 16 July, Ukrainian Parliament voted in favour of approving a new government, to be headed by Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi.
