Zelenskyy imposes sanctions on companies linked to Russia's defence industry, including one Ukrainian firm

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has enacted a decision by Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council imposing sanctions on 23 companies and 20 individuals involved in producing weapons and supporting the needs of Russia's defence industry. The sanctions list also includes one Ukrainian-registered company.

Details: According to the decree, the sanctions target foreign companies involved in the production of Russian ballistic missiles, air defence systems, electronic warfare equipment and in supporting the Russian defence industry and security agencies.

Among those sanctioned are the Belarusian company Kidma Tech, which manufactures optical equipment and repairs guided missiles, and the Morozov Plant, part of the Rostec group, which supplies solid-fuel charges for the engines of Iskander-M ballistic missiles.

The sanctions also apply to Spetselektronkomplekt, which is involved in the production of air-to-surface missiles, and OboronStal, which supplies fastening components for Kh-59M2/M2A missiles.

The restrictions also target companies supplying drones and electronic warfare equipment to Russian occupation forces, including Aurum LLC, UAV-Ural LLC, and the Nizhny Novgorod instrument-making company Salyut-27.

The sanctions further cover a number of suppliers of microelectronics, optical components and industrial equipment for Russia's defence industry, including Connector Optics, TT Micro, KomponentServiceGroup, Yuna Engineering, Kriogenavia-NN, Mashservice, Tekhmashimport, Trading House Zavolzhsky Chemical Plant, Synercon and Sadayev Group.

In addition, the measures target Russian IT companies Enforcer Engineering, Equant, SOIS Consult and VS Lab, which develop digital solutions and information security systems for Russian government and military institutions.

The list of sanctioned legal entities also includes the Boryslav Oil Company, a joint venture registered in Lviv Oblast. The reason for including the Ukrainian company on the sanctions list has not been specified.

The sanctions are imposed either indefinitely or for a period of 10 years and include asset freezes, a complete ban on trade operations, the revocation of licences and restrictions on transferring capital outside Ukraine.
