Ukrainian military intelligence agency: Russia has met its annual production targets for Zircon and Oniks missiles

Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Head of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), has said Russia is increasing missile production for strikes against Ukraine, with output for the main types of Russian missiles reaching 110-120% of monthly targets.

Quote: "Overall, for the main types of missile weapons, their [Russian] monthly production is currently running at 110-120% of the target. According to data from Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the July production target for Kh-101 missiles was 140% fulfilled, for Kalibr missiles 111% and for Kh-35 cruise missiles 200%."

Details: Skibitskyi noted that DIU has documentary evidence of Russia's missile production targets and their actual output.

"For example, with regard to systems such as Zircon and Oniks [which were initially anti-ship missiles but, following modernisation, are now used against ground targets], as of 3 August, the enemy had already met the annual production target set for them under the state defence procurement programme," he said.

According to estimates by DIU, the number of Kh-101, Kalibr and Kh-32 cruise missiles launched in July was the second highest monthly figure after February. Russia launched 157 such missiles in February and 153 in July.

As for ballistic and hypersonic missiles – the 9M723 used by the Iskander-M system, the 48N6DM used by the S-400 and the Zircon – Russia launched 198 of these in July.

"This is the highest figure recorded this year," Skibitskyi concluded.
