Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has said that all ambassadors have been instructed to actively promote so-called "anti-ballistic sanctions" against Russia in response to each such attack on Ukraine, particularly on Kyiv.

Details: Sybiha said Russia must face sanctions after every large-scale missile strike.

Quote: "We have an agreement, and this was our initiative: after every strike, there should be a very swift, literally immediate package of sanctions against Russia that further targets its banking system and economy and restricts its access to technology. We have called this an anti-ballistic sanctions package. It should target the entire ecosystem involved in the production of missiles in Russia, particularly ballistic missiles."

Details: The minister added that Russia has increased its missile capabilities, making it necessary to stop this.

Quote: "We have the necessary data and intelligence on this entire ecosystem, on the individuals involved and on legal entities. Yesterday, I spoke with Kaja Kallas [the EU's foreign policy chief – ed.], and all ambassadors abroad were instructed, following a meeting with President Zelenskyy, to actively promote this issue, these 'anti-ballistic sanctions'," Sybiha said.

Details: Sybiha said this involves not only European countries but also other partners, including Canada, Japan, the UK and Australia.

"We need to synchronise this approach, particularly regarding anti-ballistic sanctions, and I am confident they will come very quickly. We are also working with our partners to be as successful and precise as possible in this regard," the foreign minister added.

Sybiha also said that partners have heard Ukraine's request for Patriot interceptor missiles to help it get through the winter.

Background: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently said that Ukraine needs 5% of the US stock of Patriot interceptor missiles to survive the winter and 10% to destroy "all of the Russians' ballistic missiles".
