Russian forces attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure: new power outages in six oblasts

New power outages have been recorded in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts as a result of Russian strikes as of the morning of 24 August.

Details: Emergency repair work has already begun wherever security conditions permit. Energy workers are working to bring electricity back.

As of 09:30, electricity consumption was 9.2% lower than at the same time on the previous working day, 21 August. Ukrenergo attributed this to the easing of the heatwave and clear weather, which increases the efficiency of solar power plants.

The use of high-power electrical appliances on Monday is recommended to be shifted to the period between 10:00 and 16:00, when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently.
