Details: "Ozon share prices fell by 12.7% to RUB 2,600 (approx. US$31) after the opening of the main trading session on the Moscow Exchange. The Moscow Exchange index dropped to 2,092 points at the start of trading, 2% below the previous session's closing level," the report states.
"Ukrainian forces have been striking Ozon warehouses in various regions of Russia for the third consecutive day," the publication notes.
Ozon shares are included in the calculation base of so-called blue chips – the most liquid exchange-traded securities.
Ukrainian forces had previously carried out successive attacks on warehouses of another major Russian marketplace, Wildberries. Unlike Ozon, Wildberries is not listed on the stock exchange, the publication states.
Background:
- On the night of 23-24 August, drones attacked Ozon logistics centres in the Russian cities of Krasnodar, Stavropol Krai and Dagestan.
- Following the strikes on Wildberries, several Russian marketplaces began changing their terms for sellers and removing their liability for loss of goods during drone attacks. Wildberries, Ozon, Yandex Market, Megamarket and Magnit Market all amended their terms.
- The Association of Digital Platforms (ADP), which brings together Wildberries, Ozon, Yandex, Avito and Kuper, proposed that the Russian government introduce a package of support measures for businesses affected by drone attacks.
